We built the kelp supplement we couldn’t find for our own animals
WildTide started with a simple frustration: the supplements that looked best on paper were the ones our pets refused to eat.
The gap in the bowl
Most commercial pet food — even premium brands — is cooked at high heat. That processing strips out many of the trace minerals naturally present in raw ingredients. Wild coastal animals top those minerals back up by grazing on seaweed. Indoor cats and dogs never get the chance.
Norwegian Ascophyllum nodosum kelp is one of the richest natural sources of those trace minerals. The science wasn’t the hard part. Getting a picky cat to actually take it was.
Why drops, not powder
Powders clump, smell, and leave a residue that sharp-nosed cats notice immediately — so they walk away from the bowl. We went the other direction: a liquid that disappears into wet or dry food, carried in a low-sodium chicken broth base that even fussy eaters accept. No stirring, no pills, no battles. Just a few drops at mealtime.
Designed cat-first, built for dogs too
Cats are the harder customer — they can’t make their own taurine, and they reject anything that tastes off. So we formulated for cats first, added pharmaceutical-grade taurine, then set dosing by weight so dogs benefit from the same bottle. If it passes the cat test, it works for everyone.
